We have more news on the issue of police responding to Indian Park Apartments to investigate what was labeled as false imprisonment and described in the narrative of the report as, “an attempted kidnapping” on Tuesday. Sgt. Kyle Evans told WGNS through email on Thursday, "The suspect was only drunk and belligerent.  He never actually touched the kids and never solicited them.  We are still investigating but there have been no further charges filed."

When police arrived at the address they observed a suspect who matched the description they were given. Officers asked the subject who was walking away when they arrived to STOP. Eugene Bustos allegedly took off running. He was caught a short time later and taken to the ground.

The report showed, “Mr. Bustos had an odor of intoxicant about his person, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet.” The subject was not charged with attempted kidnapping or false imprisonment, but he was charged with public intoxication, evading arrest and resisting arrest. The detective division is looking into the incident.
