UPDATE: Convicted Murderer and Rapist Jewell Moses Bess to be in court this February

UPDATED 1/10/17: Convicted murderer and sex offender Jewell Moses Bess of Murfreesboro will be back in court soon.

Bess, who once lived on Richland Richardson Road in Rutherford County, is requesting a new trial. Originally, that request was scheduled to be made this past September, but after breaking his leg while in prison, the trial had to be delayed.

Bess was previously convicted for the rape of a child under the age of 13 in 1997. According to the Sex Offender Registry, Bess is listed as a violent offender.

The convict is currently behind bars at the South Central Correctional Facility in Clifton, TN. Today, Bess is 67-years of age. As it stands now, Bess will be 94 years old when he is eligible for parole.
