UPDATE: Dec. 26th Murder in Smyrna

A public defender has been chosen for a suspect accused of killing his girlfriend in Smyrna the day after Christmas. 42-Year old Kerry Tomlin, allegedly stabbed his live in girlfriend Maria Lambert, age 40, to death. The incident occurred at his 1103 Bolton Drive home.

Police say Tomlin called 911 stating that Lambert had overdosed on drugs. When officers arrived it was quickly realized that she had been stabbed multiple times. She was rushed to StoneCrest Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. Tomlin was later charged with her murder.
