UPDATE: Gambling winnings lead to attempted murder charges in Murfreesboro

A man who faces attempted first degree murder charges in Murfreesboro was arrested and served multiple warrants for "Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Burglary, Attempted Aggravated Burglary, Reckless Endangerment" and "Criminal Conspiracy" over this past weekend. John Leach III allegedly shot 28-year old Shermane Robertson over a gambling winnings. The incident occurred in 2013 at 442 East Castle Street. Robertson was found face down in the driveway. He was taken to the hospital after the incident and was able to survive the alleged attack.

Robertson was said to have been shot twice in the back as he turned to run from Leach while throwing his recent winnings on the ground. After Robertson fell to the ground, he was shot seven more times.

A court date for Leach has yet to be decided. He is currently behind bars.

Note: This is the second time the subject has been arrested in this case.
