UPDATE: Increased Police Patrol in Barfield Community Tuesday Afternoon

Apr 17, 2013 at 01:24 pm by bryan

Many residents in the Barfield Community noticed an increase of Murfreesboro Police Officers in their area on Tuesday afternoon just after 3pm. WGNS posted a brief story on this subject, but later removed the story in an effort to help police nab their suspect. It was feared that the culprit would be tipped off by our web and on air presence. That being said, WGNS removed the post until we could confirm that an arrest has been made. We were able to make that confirmation Wednesday morning.

Apparently city officers were searching for a fugitive from justice between the area of Barfield School and the Tiger Mart gas station located on 231 South. Three police officers were seen at the gas station (two unmarked units and one marked unit) and three marked units were seen at Barfield School.

The reason for the arrest has not been released, other than to say the culprit was a fugitive.
