UPDATE: Lorrie Barrett Straughn Killed In Labor Day 2-Car Crash

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released the accident report for the fatal wreck that occurred on Monday, Labor Day in Murfreesboro (9/5/16).

The report states that 37 year old Lorrie Barrett Straughn was traveling west on Woodbury Pike (East Main Street) when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle that crossed the center line. The driver of the oncoming van was 70 year old Steve Johnson.

Straughn, whose vehicle was struck by Johnson's van, was killed in the crash. She was not wearing a safety belt. Her passenger was her infant daughter who was buckled in, but still received injuries in the mishap.

Johnson along with his passengers ages 12,14 and 35 were all injured and transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital after colliding with Straughn. No one in Johnson's vehicle was wearing a safety belt, according to the report. Again, the Highway Patrol stated that Johnson crossed the center line into the oncoming lane of Straughn.

Officials say that Lorrie Barrett Straughn died at the scene.

At this point, citations and / or criminal charges have not been filed.
