WGNS is continuing the follow the story involving the 2013 murder of 47-year old Jackie Warpoole, Jr. of Smyrna. Charged with the murder was 23-year old Edgar Domonique "Dom" Covington of Nashville.

Warpool was in his car on I-24 West near the Sam Ridley Parkway exit when he was shot and killed on Dec. 15, 2013. Covington is facing a charge of premeditated, first degree murder. He will be in court on June 6, 2016.

As for the reason that Covington allegedly shot and killed Mr. Warpoole, Sheriff Robert Arnold stated in 2014...

Covington is being held behind bars at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in Murfreesboro.
