UPDATE: Name of man killed on train tracks in Murfreesboro released

The name of the man who was killed on the railroad tracks in Murfreesboro just before 5:00 Sunday morning (9/7/14) has been released.

Murfreesboro Police responded to the railroad tracks underneath Medical Center Parkway, which is also known as the Rosebank overpass in reference to a death investigation involving a male subject. After a preliminary investigation, detectives believe that 43-year old Ricardo A. Jakes was lying on the tracks and was struck by a passing train. The subject was pronounced dead on the scene. Jakes lived near the railroad tracks at 1318 Searcy Street in Murfreesboro.

At this time, there does not appear to be any signs of foul play involving the death.
