UPDATE: Pedestrian Hit by Car on Lascassas Pike

We have more news on the car that hit a pedestrian on Lascassas Pike Tuesday afternoon. The Murfreesboro Police Fatal Accident Crash Team investigated the wreck, near College Grove Apartments and confirmed in a report the pedestrian was 19-year old DeVaughn Norwood from Chattanooga. The accident happened around 5 o'clock in the evening on Tuesday and reports show the person who reportedly struck Norwood ran off the road and hit the victim on the shoulder of the road.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Norwood was 20-year old Audarius Miller. In the report it listed under the title “Distraction” that a cell phone was present in the vehicle. It also shows the driver failed to maintain his proper lane of travel. The report does not show that the driver was charged with any wrongdoing at this point.

The victim, who was last reported in serious condition, was taken to the E-R at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital by ambulance, then to Vanderbilt by LifeFlight.
