UPDATE: Suspects in January Walmart Double Murder in court Friday

A Nashville teen and a 21-year old will face the Rutherford County Courts on Friday (8/1/14) for the double murder of two Murfreesboro men. The double homicide occurred in the Old Fort Parkway Walmart parking lot on January 29, 2014. 19-Year old Denarius Coleman and 21-year old Demetrius Coleman are accused of killing Andre Chesterfield and Latre Lillard.

Looking back to January, Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans told WGNS… “MPD officers were called to the Walmart at 2000 Old Fort Pkwy to investigate two subjects unresponsive on the ground in the parking lot.”

Soon after the murder took place, Denarius Coleman was apprehended by the Murfreesboro Police Criminal Investigations Division assisted by the Gang Unit and the Metro Nashville Police SWAT team. Demetrius Coleman was then arrested by the Chicago Violent Crimes Task Force with the Chicago Police Department. The two were transferred back to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. The two men have been behind bars since their arrest. 

Both Denarius and Demetrius Coleman face 2 counts of “Felony Murder,” 1 count of “Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Robbery, 1 county of “Especially Aggravated Robbery” and 2 counts of “Murder in the First Degree.”

When the two appear in court on Friday, August 1, 2014, Demetrius will be represented by attorney Guy Dotson and Danarius will be represented by a public defender.
