UPDATE: Two Charged with Drag Racing Causing I-24 Semi to Overturn

The horrendous traffic tie-ups on I-24 due to an overturned semi Monday were reportedly caused by two men drag racing. Now, the two men are in jail.

Preliminary reports allege 30-year old Jason Bogard and 25-year old Brandon Lenior were drag racing on the interstate, which caused the crash around 12:45pm. Both men were arrested Monday evening.

Bogard was charged with drag racing, driving on a suspended license and reckless endangerment. Lenoir faces charges of drag racing, driving on a suspended license and reckless endangerment. They're both being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

Bogard's bond is set at 65-hundred dollars while Lenoir's bond is 85-hundred dollars.

I-24 eastbound was shut down for over four-hours while the crash scene was investigated and cleared.
