UPDATE: Two serious accidents on I-24 Wednesday morning and on Tuesday afternoon

Tuesday (9/09/14) accident:

WGNS has learned that the man who was killed in an accident on Interstate 24 at Haywood Lane was a resident of Rutherford County. The accident occurred around 3:00 on Tuesday afternoon.

The 67-year old victim was driving his convertible Porsche down I-24 when he changed lanes and accidently struck a Monte Carlo that was driven by 24-year old Alex Crowell. When the vehicles collided the man from Rutherford County appeared to have lost control and ran off the interstate striking a pole and then flipped over. Crowell was not seriously injured in the collision. The name of the Rutherford County man who died in the crash has not been released.

Wednesday (9/10/14) accident:

In an accident that occurred on I-24 Wednesday morning around 6, one woman was taken to the hospital after the car she was in ran off the road, hit a rock wall and then flipped over. The car came to a rest alongside the interstate near Sam Ridley Parkway in Smyrna.

The name of the female has yet to be released.
