UPDATE: Wednesday Shooting behind Patterson Park Community Center

We have an update on a Wednesday night (3/6/13) shooting that happened in the area of University Street behind Patterson Park Community Center. WGNS has learned that a 14-year girl told police that the shooting took place after she got into an argument with a male juvenile. The report says, “she called her brother to the area of Patterson because she knew she couldn’t handle the juvenile male subject.”

The report shows that the brother of the teen got into an argument with the male juvenile. A teen who was with the male juvenile allegedly pulled out a gun and started firing it at the girls brother. 18 Year old Radley L. Artavues was hit by gunshot in his back and the arm. The shot to his back exited out of his front pelvis. Artavues was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where his condition has not been released.

The Murfreesboro Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating. Charges are pending.
