UPDATE: WGNS Host, former Sheriff, Truman Jones Surgery Successful

Truman Jones heart surgery went well. The former sheriff and WGNS talk show host underwent heart bypass surgery Thursday at a Nashville hospital.

His family reports Truman did well as he had triple bypass surgery.

He will be in the hospital for a few days before then coming back to Murfreesboro for recovery.

Truman Jones began his radio show on NewsRadio WGNS January 4th, 2011, after serving decades as sheriff of Rutherford County. He just two weeks ago lost his wife of 50-plus years, Jackie.

Truman Jones, the former sheriff, who hosts "The Truman Show" weekdays on NewsRadio WGNS is in the hospital. He was taken to the St. Thomas Rutherford emergency room Tuesday with heart-related symptoms. He actually called into his show to give listeners an update...

Truman has since been taken to a Nashville hospital where he's awaiting surgery in the next couple of days.
