For the second year, Murfreesboro Dermatology Clinic’s (MDC) Aesthetics Center has joined with Middle Tennessee State University’s (MTSU) Project Help to stockpile baby wipes for the organization at the holidays.

This year, MDC Aesthetics Center is auctioning a 100-unit vial of Botox valued at $1200.  Participants can bid individually or with a friend with packages of baby wipes instead of cash.  The bidding starts at 100 packages of wipes; bids can be received in 5-package increments.  Packages of baby wipes can be found at area stores for between $1.50 and $3 per package.

“We are so pleased to be supporting MTSU’s Project Help again this year,” said Dr. Michael Bell, dermatologist and owner of Murfreesboro Dermatology Clinic and MDC Aesthetics Center.  “Last year we were able to generate, through the generous donations of many in the area, more than 150 packages of baby wipes, which is the number one consumable that Project Help uses in its daily work with its children.  We hope to double that amount, which would provide Project Help with about a three-month supply, in this second year.”

Three-fourths of the children cared for every day at Project Help, an inclusive preschool for children with developmental delays, are under the age of 3.

“By far our most frequent daily need is for baby wipes,” said Project Help Director Susan Waldrop.  “On average, we use about 115 hypoallergenic baby wipe refill packages monthly. With 100 wipes in a package, that’s 11,500 wipes a month! We use them for noses, diaper changing and quick hand wiping during our many outings.  We cannot thank Dr. Bell, the staff and clients of MDC Aesthetics Center enough for their generosity.”

Participants can email bids (including their name and cell number) to babywipesforbotox@dermclinics.com or call in bids to 615.849.4131.
