Also at the airport was enthusiast Daryl Fisher. He commented on the B-29 airplane...

Fisher is with the Middle Tennessee Motor Pool and the Historical Cadet Corps.

The B-29 was accompanied by a plane that was once flown by Charles Lindbergh. He made the first solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1927. Lindbergh later flew in the plane that is now owned by pilot Sarah Wilson from Florida. The plane Wilson flew into Smyrna on Tuesday was a 1929 Lloyd Stearman design plane.

Airplane Below Information:

The magic and excitement of aviation in the 1930s has been reborn by visionary Sarah Wilson who will accompany the tour in Nashville with her newly restored Stearman Speedmail. This 1929 airplane is the oldest surviving Stearman Model 4 Speedmail and is a real life celebrity vehicle. Originally delivered to the Richfield Oil Company on October 28, 1929, this plane was the flagship for the Jimmie Allen Flying Club based on the popular radio program The Air Adventures of Jimmie Allen. The Jimmie Allen radio series and Flying Club were important tools and greatly influenced the generation that would fly in WWII.

The CAF AirPower History Tour brings together the aircraft, pilots and crews from 67 CAF units across the country to create an ever changing assortment of military aircraft bringing the sights, sounds and smells of World War II aviation history to audiences across the United States.
