The public is invited to attend the first of a series of special meetings prior to the City Council meetings to allow for a public comment period. The City Council has scheduled a special meeting for public comment, Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. prior to the regularly scheduled meeting at 7:00 p.m.

“Allowing the public to express views of a broad nature to the Council is in keeping with our goal of engaging our community,” said Mayor Shane McFarland.  “We want the citizens of Murfreesboro to know that we want to learn from their ideas and opinions.”

How to Speak at Meeting:

Persons wishing to speak should call the Mayor’s office at 849-2629 or e-mail ktigg@murfreesborotn.gov and give their name and address. Pre-registered speakers will have three (3) minutes to address the Council.  If time allows, others attending the meeting may also speak.

The City Council is scheduled to confirm procedural rules for this new type of meeting during its regular meeting. The proposed rules can be viewed at http://www.murfreesborotn.gov/DocumentCenter/View/1640.
