More political news for the Rutherford County area… We have confirmed that another local resident has announced his intention to run for the Circuit Court Clerk seat currently held by Laura Bohling.

Lance Jenkins made the announcement via a letter to WGNS about his run for the position. Jenkins will be running in the Republican Primary on May 6th, 2014. Jenkins stated, “I look forward to bringing new leadership and direction to the Clerk’s office.”

Jenkins comes from a long line of Republicans in Rutherford County. His late grandfather(s) Percy Jenkins and John Jenkins both served as past chairmen of the Rutherford County Republican Party. Jenkins also served as a county coordinator during the 2009-2010 year for the Governor Bill Haslam campaign. It is also important to note that Jenkins mother is a retired administrative assistant for former Circuit Court Clerk Eloise Gaither.
