WHAT? A chance that city softball and baseball teams WON'T BE ABLE TO PLAY this season?

Coaches of the teams registered with the La Vergne Baseball and Softball Association (LBSA) are invited to attend an information meeting on Wednesday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room at City Hall, to discuss the spring 2013 baseball and softball leagues.

The city recently entered into a new agreement with the LBSA, but the LBSA was unable to provide the city with necessary documentation of corporate and non-profit status, so the city is exploring other opportunities to provide baseball and softball leagues to its residents.

Parents and guardians of children are encouraged to contact the LBSA directly if they have already paid fees and costs to the LBSA for their children to participate in this year’s baseball and softball leagues. “The LBSA is not part of city government, so any questions or concerns with regard to the LBSA should be directed to the LBSA”, said City Administrator Bruce Richardson.

“We want to provide baseball and softball opportunities to our residents, and we are exploring our options for doing just that,” noted Richardson. “We want to do whatever we reasonably can to see that our children have a great season.”
