Hume-Fogg Academic High School was the number one ranked high school in the state of Tennessee, according to US News & World Report. Hume-Fogg is located in Nashville and has a student population of 917 students and 44 teachers.
In Rutherford County, Blackman High School and Siegel High School were both on the list, but not given a designated ranking. Their scores were however released. The information showed that Blackman and Siegel are larger than the average Tennessee school, which hurt them on the rankings. Blackman, for example, has close to 2,300 students and 117 teachers. As far as students being college ready, Blackman High scored a 17.7, Siegel High scored 22.1, according to the rankings. In comparison, Hume-Fogg in Nashville, the number one school in the state, scored 86.9 for college readiness.
Several other Rutherford County High Schools like Riverdale, Oakland, Eagleville, Holloway, Smyrna and LaVergne were also on the list. Those schools had lower rankings. LaVergne High School had a college readiness grade of 1.9 out of 100. We have a link to the complete list below (WGNSradio.com).
