Event publicist Anna King of Smyrna Parkway Baptist Church says the evening is to help Way of Hope raise funds for a vitally-needed transportation vehicle. Cost for the 7 p.m. meal and show at the Murfreesboro Calvary Baptist Church (431 Dejarnette Lane) is $10. Persons needing more information about Way of Hope can call 615-653-8027.

Whittle, who was homeless at one point in his life, says he was introduced to the Way of Hope at his home church, Smyrna Parkway Baptist, that houses that ministry's homeless mothers and children once a month. He adds being a former homeless person, he wanted to share there can be the best years of life ahead in the wake of homelessness, especially using the Biblical principal of serving others, even when you're in a distressed situation yourself.
