A random shot was fired in Murfreesboro on Old Castle Drive. A resident in the area thought the pop sound was from a firework. After seeing one .380 shell casing on the ground, the noise was determined to be from a gun.

Police were called to the Aspen Heights Student Apartment address and searched the area near South Rutherford Boulevard, but turned up empty handed. The good news, no one was hurt. The bad news... no arrests have been made.
