Widening of Highway 99 in Murfreesboro

The New Salem Highway, otherwise known as Highway 99, will be the next big project for the Tennessee Department of Transportation to tackle in Murfreesboro.

New Salem Highway will cost a total of $35.8 million dollars to rebuild. While an official timeline is not yet known, the project will be divided into three phases. The first phase will be from Old Fort Parkway to I-24 as mentioned by Crumley. Phase two will be to widen the roadway between I-24, past World Outreach Church and to Cason Lane. Phase three will be from Cason Lane towards Veterans Parkway.

Phase one of the rebuilding of Highway 99 could begin before the end of 2016.
