Will Wine Be Sold in Grocery Stores?

The idea of selling wine in grocery stores in Tennessee may come down to a vote by the public. In the past, state lawmakers have been asked to consider the measure, but it has never passed muster. Even though Tennessee has not allowed for wine to be sold in grocery stores, 35 other states have allowed it for years. In Tennessee, liquor store owners are afraid the idea will take too big of a slice out of their sales. Lawmakers will return to session January 10th and will have to discuss the idea of a referendum then.
