Wilson Bank & Trust Made Many Motorist' Friends FRIDAY

Motorists waited in the parking lot next to the Shell gas station on Greenland and Middle Tennessee Boulevard from a few hours to some staying overnight. The big draw on Friday (9/19/2014) was $20 of free gas given away by Wilson Bank & Trust. If volume measures success, thousands of cars jammed roads leading to that intersection.

WGNS spoke with people who had been waiting for the free gas, and there was an end result that the bank may not have considered. It seems many old friendships were renewed during the time spent in the parking lot.

(above) Wilson Bank & Trust Regional President Barry Buckley helped on the service line. He told WGNS News . . .

Murfreesboro Police handled the traffic flow, and those who received the free gas was "luck of the draw". If a car attempted to pull into the gas station, and there was no space available for their vehicle--police waived them on. That includes some who exited the adjacent parking lot when there was no place to enter the gas station.

Police were courteous, professional and yet firm in keeping the traffic flowing. Each time stating "drive safe"!

A large number of bank employees were on hand to greet the motorists and then pump their gas.
