The manager of Uncle Sandy’s Truck Stop on South Church Street evidently stopped an alleged thief from stealing two 24-oz. beers on Tuesday night. The clerk told police a female entered the store and tried to leave with the beer in hand. While leaving, the manager approached the female and asked her to return the merchandise or pay for it.

The female became hostile, according to the manager. The woman is accused of striking the manager and even biting him on the shoulder during a short struggle. The man grabbed the beer away from the woman and she fled the scene on foot.

Suspect Amanda Shea Young was caught by police shortly after the incident was reported. The 26-year old woman from Woodbury was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct. Young will appear in court in January.
