A 54-year old Murfreesboro woman was arrested after police say they pulled her over while she was operating a stolen vehicle. Police stopped Derri L. Tedford on North Maney Avenue for a taillight violation. A registration check of the car showed that the tag was not on file. Tedford was unable to provide police with any documentation of ownership and that was when officers checked the VIN number on the Nissan Sentra. It was then revealed to be stolen out of Nashville. Tedford told police that she was only borrowing the car and that it belonged to her son who is currently incarcerated. Tedford was charged with theft over $1,000.
