Woman driving a red Nissan Altima allegedly caused wreck and fled the scene

A woman driving a red Nissan Altima is believed to have caused an accident on Tuesday afternoon. The incident unfolded on Broad Street at Singer Road, according to witnesses and victims.

The female driver was said to have made a left hand turn from Singer Road into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the oncoming car swerved to miss the Altima and in doing so, caused a semi truck to swerve off the roadway and overturn.

The driver of the Nissan Altima failed to stop after reportedly causing the wreck which left two people with injuries. Police labeled her involvement as a "Non-Contact Involved Vehicle." The report that WGNS obtained on Wednesday was described as a "Leaving the scene of an injury crash" incident report.

The accident is currently under investigation. The name of the woman driving the Altima has not been released.
