Murfreesboro Police headed to the Motel 6 on Chaffin Place and met with a woman who was believed to be a prostitute. Once at the room, the smell of marijuana filled the air so police asked for permission to search the rental unit. The female told police they could search not only her room, but also her cellphone.

Officers found a small plastic bag of weed and then directed their attention to the cell phone. About that time 21 year old Makeesa S. Woods admitted to Officer Jacob Fountain that she had posted an ad on BackPage.com, a website that is commonly used for prostitution. The police report stated, "Ms. Woods then admitted to using the website BackPage to promote herself to conduct sexual services. Ms. Woods further advised she had sex with two men earlier in the day using the website." Police likely have the names and phone numbers of those men as they were given the cell phone that is owned by Woods.

The Murfreesboro woman was charged with the promotion of prostitution and also faces two simple possession drug charges. More charges could be filed as Motel 6 is within 1,000 feet of a local day care facility in Murfreesboro.
