A stabbing was reported in Smyrna on Monday that is still being investigated. According to Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold, Smyrna Police responded to a domestic disturbance at Fairway Meadows Apartments (Apt. F-66). Once on the scene of the Weakly Lane address, officers found 20-year old Garrett Gilmore with a stab wound to the shoulder.

The initial investigation revealed a fight took place between Gilmore and his girlfriend, 22-year old Jennifer Jones of Smyrna. During this fight, Jones allegedly stabbed Gilmore. As a result, Jones was charged with Aggravated Assault. Gilmore, who did not have life threatening injures, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
