Donna Dean, executive consultant to the Association for Women in Science and career consultant to the American Chemical Society, will deliver the 2013 Woman in Science Invited Lecture from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, with a reception to follow in the Tom H. Jackson Building at MTSU.

Dean’s presentation is titled “Pathways to Your Career Success: Random Collisions or Ordered Events.” It is part of a series of events being held throughout March and April as part of MTSU’s National Women’s History Month observance.

Dean and Cindy Simpson, director of programs and external relations at the Association for Women in Science, will guide workshops on the importance of mentoring relationships from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and improving work-life satisfaction from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in the Tom H. Jackson Building.

Dean will sign copies of her book “A Hand Up: Women Mentoring Women in Science” at a reception at 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in the Tom H. Jackson Building.

Meanwhile, Sheril Kirshenbaum, director of the Energy Poll at the University of Texas-Austin and author of “The Science of Kissing,” will deliver the keynote address for National Women’s History Month at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in the Student Union Ballroom. Available seating is limited. Refreshments will be served.
