Woodbury Fire Chief to offer resignation after accusations of misusing fire vehicle

(Tuesday Night) A month after it was discovered that Woodbury Fire Chief Bill Johnston had used the commander fire truck for personal use which was against city ordinance, he has tendered his resignation.  The Town of Woodbury Mayor and Board of Aldermen will consider to accept that resignation during Tuesday night's monthly meeting.

Johnston wrecked the truck while en route to a fire outside of the Woodbury Town limits in Cannon County.  There was a female passenger in the truck at the time of the wreck that was not an employee of the Town of Woodbury, which was against employee policy.
