Two suspects accused of breaking into two buildings owned by World Outreach Church were charged with burglary and theft Sunday by Rutherford County Sheriff's Office deputies.

Suspects Corey Ray Kale, 37, of Westfield Drive and James William Butner Jr., 35, of Central Valley Road were charged with three counts of burglary, theft and vandalism of houses owned by the church located on Barfield Road, said Detective Lt. Todd Sparks of the Criminal Investigations Division.

Sgt. David Foote reported a World Outreach Church employee told him someone broke into the buildings located on Barfield Road three times since Thursday.

They appeared to have gathered up valuables and placed them near the door for quick removal.

"The suspects were not successful in removing the items because they were apprehended by deputies after getting their vehicle stuck in a field behind the building," Sgt. Foote reported.

They were also living inside a vacant house next door, he reported.

Deputies recovered a public address speaker system.

The suspects were booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where Kale is being held on $34,000 bond and Butner is being held on $37,500 bond.

A hearing is set Feb. 16 in General Sessions Court.
