Heavy rain on Saturday brought several traffic problems to the area. The major accident was late Saturday morning at mile marker 119 on Interstate 24 eastbound in Coffee County. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the wreck involved a Ryder rental vehicle and an 18-wheeler and backed traffic for 9 miles. At least two people were injured and taken to a Manchester hospital by Coffee County EMS. The THP is investigating the accident.
As that mishap was being worked another accident occurred near mile marker 110 westbound. Traffic slowly maneuvered through the area as emergency crews cleared the one-vehicle non-injury wreck, Saturday.
