Wright Named President-Elect Exchange Clubs of America

Don Wright, Billboard Consultant of Murfreesboro, has been elected National President-Elect of the Exchange Clubs of America. Wright formerly served as Regional Vice President for Region 6 for the Exchange Clubs. Wright's election came in a run-off with Ray Carlson of California who was a candidate for the second year in a row.

Wright is only the third member to have been elected from the Floor to the office of President-elect in the history of the 101 year-old service club. The others are Larry Street of Houston, TX in 1981 and John Hood of Murfreesboro in 1979. Wright will be the third local Exchangite to become National President of Exchange. The other is State Senator Bill Ketron who served as president from 1995-96.

Wright is a member and Past President of the Noon Exchange Club of Murfreesboro. He is also a former member and Past President of the Evening Exchange Club of Murfreesboro. He originally joined Exchange in 1982. The Exchange Clubs of Americas' National Project is the Prevention of Child Abuse. Locally this is directed through the Exchange Club Family Center on Heritage Park Drive in Murfreesboro.
