Young 16-Year Old Battling Cancer Now at Vanderbilt

Many of our listeners have been following a young girl who is suffering from a rare form of cancer on Twitter and Facebook. 16-Year old Taylor Filorimo was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in 2009. After given the news by doctors, she was told that she would only live for four to six months. She however survived, but is once again facing a negative diagnosis. Reports indicate she now has 23-tumors in her lungs, a spot on her spine and one in her heart.

On Tuesday night Filorimo had a seizure while hospitalized at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. After the seizure she became unresponsive. Paramedics then flew her by helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, where she is today.
