The New Overall Creek Elementary School
The new Overall Creek Elementary Principal Don Bartch tells about the 25-acre campus and fun programs to be offered this coming fall when the new school opens. Study areas will be set-up along the Overall Creek that boarders the east side of the land. Middle Tennessee State University and staff from the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring are working with the city to creating this special learning environment.
All kindergarten-5th grade school students must pre-register Monday, March 24, 2014, from 11:00AM to 7:00PM. No classes on this date. You must pre-register, even if you attended a city school last year. Everyone must bring a "bill from water or electric department" showing your correct city address.
NOTE: Overall Creek students will register on March 24th at Scales Elementary. That's because Overall Creek will not be completed on that date. It is scheduled to be finished in June. Signs will direct parents and students to the correct sign-up area at Scales Elementary on "registration day".

Tonight's City School Board Meeting
At tonight's (2/24/2014) Murfreesboro City School Board meeting Reeves Rogers will no longer be the Discovery School. It will become a regular zoned elementary school. Taking the position of Discovery School will be Bellwood. Students wishing to attend the Discovery School must take advance tests to be eligible, and it is too late to be considered for the coming school year.
Also, tonight's city school board meeting will cover plans to have RE-ZONING for all city students. The new Overall Creek Elementary School with share city and county zoned students, and create an even stronger relationship between the two public school systems in Rutherford County. Total system rezoning is also brought about by the students selecting "choice schools" or "Discovery School".
The city's choice schools are:
Hobgood for science
Bradley for arts
Mitchell-Neilson for leadership
