A total of 13 names have made the list in the job search to replace former Rutherford County Elections Administrator Nichole Lester. The job pays just over $92,000 annually.
The Election Commission recently fired Lester suggesting she did not put in a full day’s work. Lester suggests otherwise.
At the meeting where the commission fired Lester by a unanimous vote, many people spoke out in support of her. The backing did not change the mind of Chairman Ransom Jones or others.

The next election date is on August 7, 2014. Early voting will get underway THIS FRIDAY, July 18, 2014.
