Newport Cigarettes continue to be a hot item for thieves in Murfreesboro. A thin built black make walked into the Tiger Market Exxon Station on Mercury Blvd. in recent days and asked for two cartons of Newport Cigarettes. The man then proceeded to pay for the smokes with a credit card. When the clerk asked the man for ID, he grabbed the cigarettes and ran. So far, he has not been caught. This is the second time in the past two months that such an incident has occurred in Murfreesboro.
