The Providence Christian Academy Board of Directors today announced that Dr. Bill Mott has been named Headmaster at Providence Christian Academy. Dr. Mott currently serves as the Interim Headmaster for PCA. His appointment as Headmaster will be effective July 1, 2015.
"I am very pleased and excited to announce that Providence Christian Academy has named Dr. William R. (Bill) Mott as the new Headmaster at PCA," announced Providence Board Chair, Julie Knox. "Dr. Mott helped us conduct an extensive national search, and we quickly discovered that Bill himself was the ideal candidate to move PCA forward. Dr. Mott is eminently qualified for this position. His record as a leader is outstanding and his experience as a successful administrator is significant," said Knox. "We are confident that Bill will add an amazing new chapter to the life of our unique school and look forward to his leadership."
Dr. Mott is currently a consultant and a nationally known conference and workshop presenter. He is the author of two books on the subject of private school governance. He has served as the President of Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tennessee and Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, AR. Bill is a native Tennessean having grown up in Brentwood, TN. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and holds a master's and Ph.D. degree in educational leadership from Vanderbilt University. Bill and his wife Courtney are the parents of two grown children.
In accepting this appointment, Bill said, "It is with a combination of excitement and humility that I accept the awesome responsibility to become Headmaster at Providence Christian Academy. From the moment I stepped on campus I realized Providence is a unique place. I am grateful to the PCA Board of Directors for the confidence they have expressed in my leadership. Providence Christian Academy, founded in 1996, is an academically advanced, inter-denominational classical Christian school.
