The historic Murfreesboro square was packed for the monthly Friday Night Live sponsored by the Only Downtown Merchants Association and the Main Street Program. Temps were in the upper 70s while the Skyline Drive Band pumped out memories from Mowtown, classic rock and pop hits.
Many businesses in the historic district were open to accomodate the super-sized crowd with food, fashions, photos--plus a new store that mixes art with healthy groceries and treats debuted. From the steady stream of customers on the east side of the square, the Greenery was a smash hit.
The Murfreesboro Police closed all four sides of the square to traffic, and this not only made for a safer venue, but gave on-lookers more space to walk and locate their lounge chairs. Kudos to MPD for this approach!
