Central Magnet School One of Top Three in Tennessee

Central Magnet School is the third best high school in Tennessee and the 133rd best in the nation, according to the latest rankings released by U.S. News & World Report.

Central Magnet School serves grades 6-12 and is open to students throughout Rutherford County who qualify academically. The school was previously named fourth in Tennessee and 278th nationally in last year's rankings.

The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia, according to its website. Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college.

Central was awarded a gold award and scored 78.3 on the college readiness index.
