We have another story on fake money circulating through Rutherford County. This time, the Goodwill was hit.
According to a Goodwill worker at the thrift clothing store on South Church Street, two subjects tried to pay for items with a counterfeit $50 bill. The manager of the store told police it appeared as if someone had taken a real $5 bill and altered it to look like a $50 bill. Evidently, the altering job was not too authentic looking as the cashier refused to accept it as a form of payment.
After the duo tried to use the phony money, they quickly left the store. The transaction was captured on an in store video camera and that footage is now in the hands of Murfreesboro Police.
At this point, an arrest has not been made.
