Celebrity Baker Helped Students This Past Weekend

This past Saturday (9/24/11), Sweet Inspiration was the theme at Paige’s Pantry for these Tennessee Culinary Arts students and teachers.  

Celebrity Cake Designer Gregory Soriano, a contestant from TLC’s the Next Great Baker, spent the day teaching students fondant, gum paste, gel paste painting, and airbrush techniques. 

The event was hosted byMurfreesboro's Paige’s Pantry, a local decorating supply shop that focuses on cake and cookie decorating classes and parties.

Greggy competed on the 2010 challenge for TLC’s The Next Great Baker. He said, “I get inspiration from everywhere and from everything. I wake up in the morning wanting to be inspired. I love what I do.”  

After taking a cake decorating class at a local supply store in high school, Greggy followed his passion and turned it into a career. Local cake decorators attended along with students and teachers from Smyrna High School, CoffeeCounty, Oakland High School, and Summit High School.
