Sheriff's deputies will conduct saturation patrols to help reduce traffic fatalities and injuries each night from Nov. 28 through Dec. 11 throughout Rutherford County, said Patrol Major Egon Grissom.

"There will be patrols nightly in areas that we feel are high in traffic crashes, impaired and drunk drivers, as well as distracted drivers," Major Grissom said. "It is the Sheriff's Office attempt at reducing crashes and at the same time educating the public about distracted driving, DUI, seatbelt use and child restraints."

The Tennessee Highway Safety Office funds the saturation patrols by paying deputies overtime to reduce traffic fatalities and crashes through enforcement and education.
