A Smyrna woman is accused of breaking into a Walmart jewelry case and stealing jewelry in Murfreesboro. The theft was reported at the Walmart on Old Fort Parkway Monday morning around 9:30.

27 Year old Shauna D. Bales was observed by a loss prevention worker in the store allegedly breaking into a jewelry case and later taking items into the stores restroom.

Evidently, police found Bales' purse hanging in a bathroom stall, which is where they also found her. Inside the purse were several syringes, a lighter and a spoon with residue on it. Officers also found several pairs of earrings, watches and three checkbooks that did not belong to Bales.

A female officer was called to the scene to further search Bales. The officer found that she had more earrings that were hidden in a small black nylon bag along with a syringe loaded with heroin. The syringe was uncapped and it was reportedly found in her sports bra, according to an arrest report.

Officers later turned their attention to the car that dropped Ms. Bales off at the front of the store. Inside the car police found another syringe along with a Walmart scanner.

Bales was charged with simple possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, forgery, theft over $1,000, filing a false report and criminal trespassing. She was also served two warrants out of Nashville for failing to appear in court and violation of probation.

The suspect is due in court on April 3, 2017.
