We have more information on that accident in Coffee County that backed up traffic for several miles on I-24 East, Monday. The wreck involved an eighteen wheeler and a small car from Clarksville, TN. The big Rig pushed the car into the guard rail and tore it to pieces. In the car was 32-year-old Shanell Graham and her two daughters who were moving to Florida when the trip was cut short. Graham and the oldest child, eleven year-old Isabel, were flown from the scene by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center. They are listed in stable condition. The eight year-old, Marissa was in the back seat and was unhurt. The truck driver, 51-year-old Terry Jones, was cited with failure to yield.

Manchester Fire & Rescue worked nearly an hour to free the victims. The interstate was shut down for several hours. THP worked the crash.

As the first crash was being worked traffic began to back up on the eastbound side of I-24. An eighteen wheeler didn't notice the cars in front of him was stopping and locked his brakes. The big rig hit a couple of other cars, went into the median, back on the East lane and jacked knifed. The entire East side was blocked. Traffic was routed off the interstate. No one was hurt in this crash. -WJLE
