68 Year old Russell Ashton served our country in the Vietnam War, he was in the US Army. When he returned, like many Vietnam Veterans, he went straight to work.

Today, Ashton still has many memories and thoughts about what he saw during a wartime, things that can't be unseen.

He also has physical injuries that have led him to seek care at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro.

Some of his injuries are likely caused by his hard landings while parachuting from planes...

Ashton recently had back surgery at the VA. That surgery changed his life in many ways allowing him to feel young again. He said that he was very thankful for the medical care he has received.

Before we left he mentioned that he could likely go through today's boot camp all over again...

The York VA Medical Center operates under the guidance of the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. For more information, please see the links below our full interview with Mr. Ashton.
