In nearby Coffee County, a social media threat toward Coffee County High School was investigated. Evidently, the Coffee County Sheriff's Department was contacted on Sunday night (8/27/17).

After an investigation was conducted, the alleged threat was deemed NOT to be credible.

School officials thanked the sheriff's department for their quick action. The sheriff's department takes these types of incidents seriously and will always investigate threats or alleged threats.

The school was open for its regular schedule on Monday.

Just last week in Rutherford County, Smyrna authorities investigated a bomb threat made to both Smyrna High School and the Smyrna Justice Center.

Authorities report that call came into Metro Nashville dispatch.

The school and justice center were searched and the threat was deemed to be unfounded or not credible, similar to the situation in Coffee County this past Sunday.
