Two counts of aggravated assault are the charges that an Antioch man faces in Murfreesboro. Reports indicate the charges stem from an alleged road rage incident.

When police arrived at the Walmart on Joe B. Jackson Parkway at 231 South, they located a 20-year-old female and a 27-year-old female hiding in the Walmart bathroom. One of the two women said that she was driving down I-24 when a green SUV got too close to her bumper. The victim said that she "Brake Checked" the SUV in an attempt to tell the driver to back off. The victims sister was driving behind the SUV and claimed to have witnessed the incident and saw the driver of the SUV waiving a gun around.

Shortly after the so called "Brake Check," the driver of the SUV followed the woman and her sister off of I-24 and onto Joe B. Jackson Parkway. The women then drove to Walmart.

Once in the parking lot of the discounter, the driver of the SUV reportedly held what looked to be a gun in the air.

The women parked their cars and headed into the store. They told officers the man also parked and followed them inside. The females made their way to the restroom where they called police.

Police made contact with the driver of the SUV who was identified as Tobias Beard of Antioch. The man claimed to have been driving "Peacefully" and was headed to Walmart anyway. He told officers that the females were driving recklessly.

Police asked Beard if he had a gun to which he replied "NO." However, he later told officers that he did have a "BB Gun" in his SUV. The gun was found in the drivers side door and one of the two females positively identified the weapon as the one that was in his hand.

The two women said they feared for their lives as the incident was unfolding. As a result, 36 year old Beard was charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

As of Thursday afternoon, Beard remains behind bars in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
